Brian Cox (actor)
Brian Denis Cox (born 1 June 1946) is a Scottish actor. He has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre extensively, where he gained recognition for his portrayal of King Lear. He played supporting roles in '' Rob Roy'' (1995) and Mel Gibson's Academy Award-winning '' Braveheart'' (1995). He was the first actor to portray Hannibal Lecter on film in '' Manhunter'' (1986). A winner of two Olivier Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award, he has also been nominated for a British Academy Television Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Brian Roy Cox (born 7 May 1961) is an English former professional footballer born in Sheffield, who played as a goalkeeper in the Football League for Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town, Mansfield Town and Hartlepool United. Cox started his career as an apprentice at Sheffield Wednesday, making his debut as a 17-year-old in a 1–1 draw against Oxford United in the Football League Third Division. After making 26 appearances in all competitions, he left for Huddersfield Town. Brian Cox is an Australian rugby league footballer who played as a who played for Parramatta and Cronulla-Sutherland who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He was an inaugural player for Cronulla and played in the club's first ever game. Playing career Cox began his first grade career with Parramatta in 1960. In his two seasons at the club, Parramatta finished last on the table claiming the wooden spoon. In 1962, under the guidance of new coach Ken Kearney, Parramatta went from easy beats to a competitive side and qualified for their first final series in 1962. Bryan Keith Cox Sr. (born February 17, 1968) is an American football coach and former player. He is the assistant defensive line coach for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Western Illinois University, an FCS program that has developed other NFL talent, and received attention for his aggressive style of play. Although Cox was a relatively late fifth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 1991 NFL Draft, he rose to prominence as a standout linebacker during his twelve NFL seasons from 1991 through 2002.
